Well folks it feels like Christmas over here. The day finally arrived where I'd make some gains towards profiting again. Today I put in a 7k hand session and ended up 6 bis. I would attribute it to a couple of things. I have now become a lot more aggressive post flop, always making sure I have control of the hand. I am finding that you can really bluff the regs with a fair amount of ease by just bloating the pot and barreling huge on the river. This was not the case before as I'd just check behind on the flop, flat a turn bet etc etc. Another adjustment I've made is my 3bet size in multiway pots. Before it was way to small and I'd be semi confused with huge hands post flop. But now by juicing the 3bet size up a bit the decisions are pretty clear cut. These tweaks are thanks to some discussion with friend and fellow 100NL reg krissyb24 and also 2+2 pro lyda12345.
I don't think I ran particularly well today - no set over sets, I did get As vs Ks. But I also got coolered a bunch of times. Basically it just seems weekends are way more fishy. Instead of having like 6 regs at the table and 1 fish, it's like 3 or 4 regs at the table and 5 fish. It's pretty much the nuts. So yeah playing on the weekends is mandatory from now on.
I am kinda disappointed with myself in regards to my lack of volume. Today was my first session since Tuesday and although I do have legitimate reasons for not playing aside from a lack of desire, I need to truly realize this is my job, and to earn a income I have to play. I was privileged enough to be able to look at Nicks graph and over 2.5M hands I was able to see more than 1 300k breakeven stretch. 300k breakeven stretch, I haven't even played 300k hands lol. So essentially what I'm getting at is for me to reach my true winrate, I need to start playing more or at least at a consistent rate. I'm really just beating myself up right now, but anyways lol.
This has been a pretty crazy week for me. Wednesday night I hosted the cash game at my University and it's safe to say that it was a success. We had a good turnout and we were even able to open a second table at one point. The game has never been fishier now that all the good players have graduated. Some good friends OTT CANADA and SPEKTAH even rolled through for an hour and that was pretty fun. Our table ran more like the FT of the Sunday 500 for that hour ;). But yeah all in all it was great and I hope it runs as smoothly next week.
A lol story at 11:59PM a security guard came around locking all the doors. She comes in the room where we're playing and says there no Poker on campus. I'm like this isn't Poker we're playing Euchre (lol even though we were using Poker chips and everything). She's like well there's no gaming on campus. I'm like k fine we're just finishing up. She says ok and leaves. Everyone was panicking not knowing whether we should pack up or not, I smelt a bluff so I asked someone to check if she had locked the door. If she locked the door it means she's not coming back because no school police or whatever is that dedicated to come back after doing their primary tasks. If she left it unlocked however I'd suspect she did it as a reminder and she was going to be returning to bust us. So the guy checked the door and it was locked and I ordered to stand ground. Fast forward 15 minutes and we declare victory. I called the bluff and we were obv goot.
Thursday was a pretty meaningless day. I had to do some school things which ultimately tied up my day. Friday was one of longest days in history.
So next Wednesday my hockey team is putting on a fundraiser at our schools on campus bar. We have a band playing there, a raffle and silent auction. I was asked to help sell tickets on Friday. I was up at 9AM to hand in one of the forms for school, and I had planned to go back to sleep especially since I only got 3 hours the night before. But that wasn't going to happen lol. One of my fellow teammates calls me up at 10AM telling me they needed me at the stand right now. All I could think was fml. I literally felt like crap, no shower, my shaver broke so not shaven and running on 3 hours of sleep Lol. I wanted to say no but I knew my team needed my help. The average number of tickets sold per day up until Friday was 6. I on my own sold 50 LOL. $3/ticket that's $150 aka 1.5bis in our game LOL. My team was so happy and I felt like a IRL sicko which isn't a normal feeling as I'm not usually part of IRL LOLOL.
After I was done at the stand I came back to my place and it was 9PM. I told my buddy Adam (fishbones11) and Krissy (krissyb24) that I planned to go to sleep within that hour. sfobv not if Adam had anything to say about it. I ended up staying up till 2:30AM railing his deep run in the Nightly Seventy Grand before eventually falling asleep on Skype lol. I hung up with them and crashed in my bed insta.
But yeah that's pretty much my week in recap. Tomorrow I have my hockey practice at 6 and I plan to put in a solid grind up until then. I wish everyone GL in the Sunday majors hope one of y'all ship it. And if you do, don't forget your buddy Free Advice ;) LOL.
Oh yeah, you know how you know you run good? Tonight I got a $115 transfer out of nowhere, from someone I don't know. Mistyping usernames ftw. Felt like I was playing Monopoly for asec, on some bank error type shit lol. Anyhow guys and gals GL!

Just grinding..
Well this entry probably won't be very long as I just did one yesterday. Today I put in another session at 100NL, dropping a nice 2bis. I'm very proud of myself since dropping only 2 bis after the type of complete and utter bullshit I went through can almost be considered an accomplishment. Let's take a look at some of the lol hands.

Hand of the day
I have been trying to incorporate more bluffing into my game as it seemed like I wasn't bluffing much if at all. Here is a hand I played today against a semi-nitty reg.

Among all this bullshit I am excited for one thing and that is the rebirth of my University cash game. The old club head graduated and I volunteered to take over and run the game. This past week I have hustled hard to find some new players and I fully expect there to be at least 2 full tables to run. We play lower stakes as that is usually the only thing University kids can afford. But yeah the game runs every Wednesday, 0.25/0.50 100 Max no rake and is usually fairly juicy all things considered. If you are in the Ottawa area, comment below if your interested in dropping by.
It's like 4AM right now and I just finished watching my good friend mysterio6044 get butchered on the FT of The Nightly Hundo. He busted 5th I think but lost like 8 allins where he had the opp crushed. It was gross. But yeah I'm off to bed. I won't be grinding tomorrow as I've got a shitload of things I've put off and really need to get to.
So Peace and GL at the tables all!

Long Sigh...
I just came off one of the sickest weekends ever. And not the good type of sick, the type of sick that makes you want to puke everywhere. The type of sick that makes you want to jump off a building. The type of sick that makes you question the reason for living LOL. I've always been one to exaggerate. But yeah, the bad run I was having found it's way into the weekend and I got crushed for another 6 bis bringing the grand total to around 23 buyins. At the end of it I felt blurry eyed. On some hallucinogenic state type shit. I really wasn't sure if I was playing good or not. I just felt like I couldn't win a pot, nothing was holding and I'd run into the nuts everytime I tried to bluff. When I watched my friends who grind, they get set over set, A's vs K's. I wasn't getting any of those setups so in the end I'm just going to attribute most of it to running bad. The massacre did stop today though when I finally turned a $130 profit. Small, but after losing 6bis for like 4 sessions in a row it feels like a million bucks. Like seriously, I grind for 7 hours playing among a field with an average IQ lower then the number of days in the week and I'm losing $600? It's frustrating.
I took Sunday off to rest and because it was also the same day I had my floor hockey. I was looking forward to it even more so then usual because I had so much built up anger to unleash. Before heading off I had visions of just running everyone down and pwning the goalie Lool. The dumb side of me though stayed up till 4AM on Saturday night, passed out in my chair, woke up at 9AM and didn't go back to sleep. When I got to practice, I was trying to be aggressive but it was almost like beating up a pillow. Just draining and pointless Lol. I felt I performed well though, I just know I could of been way more effective if I had more rest.
After practice we had a players meeting. We officially picked out our jerseys and in my opinion they look pretty nice. We also discussed fund raising events since this summer we're going to Ryerson University in Toronto to compete in one of the big tournaments. The cost of entrance and expenses amount to $8000. A sponsorship deal is most likely heading our way but we are still short $4000. I actually plan to host a local Poker tournament that should raise $1500 so we're actually not to far from our goal. I'm just overall excited for it. It really does allow me to get my mind off Poker and let's me get at least a little bit of exercise lol. Gotta shed those pounds nawimeannn Lol.
Last order of business I'd like to give a shoutout to Cody who helped design the bomb new banner. You really touched this blog up nice. Thanks for all your help. And also giving a shoutout to all the 100NL grinders. Except SmbSmbSmb, you can SMD.

Lol Live Pokers
Well it's 11:17AM on Saturday morning. I'm just about to start up my session. Recently I've had the opportunity to add some people from the 100NL community to my AIM list. More specifically lydia12345, someone I respect highly. Lydia's (who's actual real name is Nick), told me he's gone on 300k breakeven stretches before. So all this discussion on variance has really aided me and now I'm ready to grind. I plan to now 24 table and see how it goes, I need to make sure my quality of play does not drop. If it does I don't care if it takes my longer to grind, I'll stick with 20 tabling. Also on the weekend I'll be putting in 10k hand sessions just to increase my volume and also to capitalize on the fact that theres more donks on the tables. Well that's enough about that time to talk about my trip to Lac Leamy.
I'm not sure who's reading this so I'll state the known variables. Most online, mass multi-tabling grinders do not enjoy playing live all that much. Why? Well, cause your playing 1 table that is 1000x slower infested with people who are still trying to figure out how to pronounce there own names. You gotta visually see them drool all over the table and hear them talk total nonsense. There is an anonymity factor about online, on some robbing a bank type shit. You take the money and go, you don't have to see there faces. You can call them donks, berate there play and they'd be none the wiser. Live you have to be semi-respectful which is hard when you have a deep hatred for most of these people LOL. Obviously I'm semi-joking, but yeah you get the picture.
Yesterday started off kind of lame. I got up with only 3 hours of sleep so I was already groggy and shit. I bus to the mall where I was supposed to meet up with my friend to celebrate her birthday. I get a text saying she'll be there in 15 minutes. Ok that's fine. 30 or so minutes later I get a text saying the person driving drove her straight to the casino. Oh cool so I waited 45 minutes here for nothing? Coo coo LOL. I obviously was annoyed. So I called a cab which took another 45 minutes and finally got to the casino by like 2PM. I still haven't eaten at this point so I was pretty hungry. Anyhow since my friend ain't a balla yet she could only play $1/2 so I hop on the $1/2 list. It seems that Lac Leamy is finally catching on that having more tables opened is a good thing. I got to my friends table within 15 minutes of waiting.
And the Pokers begin. I state to the table that I'll be raising ATC. I get to 2h4h UTG I pop to $6 4 callers lol. Flop 227 BB checks I lead like $13. 1 caller turn 8 I bet $20 villian folds. Lol Two hands later I got J6 on the button 3 limpers I tried to rep and show my 100NL colors and raised to $15. Two callers flop is 969. Checks to me I bet $20 they both call LOL. Turn 10 villian bets $40 other dude calls I fold and Lol. I decided to stop spewing now and played standard the rest of the session.
I ended up like up $30 Lol. Meh pays for my cab rides.
After the Poker we were supposed to grab dinner at the casino's buffet. But she randomly gets a call saying the person driving was outside the casino waiting. So that dinner doesn't happen. Oh yeah, at this point in the story it's 6:30PM and I still haven't eaten. I would not of been surprised if my body failed and I keeled over on the Poker table and died Lol.
On a positive note I got some fish to come out to the cash game I'm going to start hosting at my University. They should provide plenty of action.
So I cab back home and because the internets is serious business I had like 50 people who had messaged me during the day. 10PM rolls by and my boy OTT CANADA rants endlessly about Pizza Huts bone out chicken wings. I cave and order them. An hour later I plow through some of the best wings I've ever had in my life. Maybe not from a culinary standpoint, but seriously I was so hungry I felt like my face could of been put on some Unicef ad or something looool. Anyhow 11:30PM I'm exhausted and fall asleep in my chair obv. Wake up at 1:30AM, transfer to the bed and pass out.
So yeah that was my day yesterday. I'm off to grind guys GL to you all. Peace.

WBCOOP
I have registered to play in the PokerStars World Blogger Championship of Online Poker! This PokerStars tournament is a No Limit Texas Hold’em event exclusive to Bloggers, you too can take part by registering on WBCOOP
Registration code: 211127
Well I just woke up and I still haven't done exactly what I've needed to do today. But I was browsing some other blogs and I discovered PokerStars WBCOOP (World Blogger Championship of Online Poker). I don't know I sent my blog in for verification, doubt I'll be accepted because my blog only has like 4 entries in it. I hope so though cause there are some decent prizes up for grabs such as SCOOP tickets.
I was also reading some 2+2 threads and ironically there is a new thread regarding downswings. One poster there was wondering what the most people have been down in Allin EV. And astonishingly some people were saying like up to 50 buyins. That definitely puts my mini 14 buyin downswing into perspective.
My fellow 100NL grinder/blogger frosty012 wrote in his intro that he lost 4k the first month he started grinding 100NL but than had an epiphany and has never lost since. I'd love to have an epiphany on how one can beat straights vs boats or when your set runs into bigger sets all day long Lolol.
But ye hopefully I get off my ass now I only got 2 and 1/2 hours before the office closes. Later all and GL at the tables!

Downswings
The last couple days have been the craziest Poker days of my life. At present time I'm on like a 14 buyin downswing. This recent swing has made me start questioning everything. My abilities, my confidence, why I play this dumb game. But as a rational thinker I know this shit is only for the moment and will not last forever.
As a semi-accomplished player I have the privilege to talk to some really bright Poker minds. Some regarding actual hand histories and strategy, some on other topics like control and discipline. I've come to the conclusion that Poker ages you, ages the mind. I'm 21 but I swear when it comes to Poker I am a 40 year old. I don't budge on my beliefs on bankroll management, tilt control and all those important elements of a winning player. Right now 100NL is testing me on all levels and I think the saying will be true that good things will come for those who wait. For those who fight for it. I have always been a fighter and I swear I will conquer 100NL.
I was actually lucky enough today to be able to have my good friend/sickest 100NL grinder come over to sweat my session for two hours. I was relieved to hear that he thought I was playing near flawlessly as I respect his game like no other. He actually also said that I must of killed a man in another life because how bad I was running. I Lol'ed.
Tomorrow I will be taking the day off as I got to attend some school shit. I'm trying my best to stay motivated to grind but it's hard when you can't win a pot.
If any of you ever want to rail me I play from 11:30 to 5 on Stars. Username Free Advice. GL at the tables!

First post
Well here we go - the first entry in the new blog. Today I fired up a session at noon. And typically for every session I play I put in 7000-7500 hands. All 7000 hands were completed in about 7 hours today. But wow what a day. About midway through I was up $400. But cooler after cooler managed to make me end the day -$140 before rakeback. Here's a look at my graph for today

Now your probably scratching your head wondering what each different line means. Well the green line is money you actually won. The red line is money you won through non-showdowns (bluffing etc). And the blue line takes the EV of your allins before the river so as you can see I'm running -$260 below expected value. And that blue doesn't even take coolers into account. So I mean all things considering I could of came out way worse on the day.
I really haven't been grinding 100NL for that long. And my profits are minuscule to some of my colleagues. So like everyday that I'm down money it feels gay cause when I play I can see and feel the dead money. I just want to keep making correct decisions - and not tilt. I can pretty much say I accomplished that goal today.
I read about the potential of this game and I am an active poster in the SSFR section of 2+2. I will master this shit Lol. One other thing I really start to improve on is my progression towards SuperNova. My volume has really been lacking cause a lot of people have been asking me to do random shit. And when I say I can't, I got to play, they like laugh or tell me I can do it later, not knowing that I'm the real deal yoooo. Loool Alright that's enough babbling for now. GL at the tables all!

Introduction
Oh hai der,
My name is Roddey Harb and I am a 21 year old University student. I am also a semi-pro Poker player who has recently switched my grind to 18 tabling 100NL FR. I was previously a mid-level MTT player. I felt a desire to create a blog to barg a bit and as well post my thoughts on the game in general. I personally feel I still have many leaks to shore. I'm hoping this blog will help me realize those leaks to help me improve on them.
You can expect graph postings, hand discussions, Poker related news that I find interesting and the random bitch about how I hate school.
My Stars name is Free Advice if anybody wants to give me a shoutout. GL at the tables!
